Misting Around

Good morning, ladies! Lucy, here - sorry we are having some technical issues with Mia and will be sharing her tutorial when available. Please excuse the lack of prep on my part, my brain is still on vacation after a week at the beach. ;)

Thought I would share one of my quick and easy ways of masking that always gives me good results - these are some layouts I did for A Million Memories recently when we were sponsored by Lily Bee papers this line is called French Couture if you like it.

I pulled out an ancient Making Memories chipboard word 'LOVE' and just lay it on my patterned paper and used a couple of colors of mists - greens and some turquoise - concentrating mostly from the lower right corner and spraying at a slight angle to have it lighter at the top and after the mist dried I outlined the word with a black pen. The hearts were randomly stitched down with black zig-zag and straight stitching. Oh, and a little about the photo treatment - a couple of texture layers and then a photo frame.

Here I did some turquoise misting on the kraft background first and then lay the scallop chipboard frame down in the corner and outlined it - messily on purpose. Then painted inside the lines with white acrylic paint - the layer over the paint is fabric for some softness and texture. Then just the additional layers and embellishments.

And some visuals to get you started looking at your scrapping supplies with new eyes:

Ok, now it's your turn - share your favorite masking ideas with us!

Thanks and have a great week!

Lucy

Just love the masking and you did a FABULOUS job with showing us how to do this great technique!!!! I have used it several times and most of the time just use a simple old piece of chipborad....then I save the chipboard to use over and over again...You would be surprised what that old piece of chipboard looks like after I have misted it a few times.....and then I add that to a page!!! Just adore this Blog....thanks for keeping us inspired!!
