Halloween Embellishments

Sherry Steveson provided us with this fun idea for jazzing up our stickers by using stamps and embossing powder. Thanks Sherry!

"I am so excited to share my challenge for you this month. Naturally when I think of October, I think of Halloween. Since I am the author of When Life Gives You Lemons; turning sour photos into sweet pages, I felt it would only be appropriate to dig out some of those older Halloween photos that weren't QUITE perfect. I also wanted to add a few embellishment tricks for this page inspired by my other book; The Scrapbook Embellishment Handbook so you would take it upon yourself to scrap a LEMON photo using my sticker idea."

"As you can see in my photo, my youngest son (in the middle) isn't looking into the camera. On top of that, can you see that color scheme between those three? Red, blue, purple AND a Halloween theme where everything is naturally orange and black. I decided to pull those three colors out of the photo and use them as the basis of my page. Black and white would be my neutral colors."

"I wanted to take those stickers and dress them up so I stamped them with a crackle stamp and versamark ink. Then I embossed the edges and the stamped portion. Then I popped them up on pop dots. The result is an enhanced sticker that works perfectly with my page. The result is a page that really showcases my lemon photo and dresses up cardstock stickers."

We'd love to see what you can do to jazz up your stickers and scrap your Halloween pics and/or incorporate something sweet in your project. Just leave us a link any time before midnight on October 31st to be eligible for this month's RAK: The Scrapbook Embellishment Handbook by Sherry Steveson.

Also, don't forget that you can also still qualify for last month's RAK by submitting a project using foil of some kind.

We can't wait to see your projects!

Happy Creating!

xoxo
